Bawdsey Primary is a thriving rural Church of England school with a family atmosphere. The beautiful school and grounds are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and historical interest - close to the coast, the River Deben and the market town of Woodbridge.

Bawdsey has small class sizes, and as a result can give each child the attention they need to succeed. We are one of the highest performing schools in the area, and are proud of our academic results in all classes. Last year the school was well above the national expectation for progress between the two key primary stages, as well as for the final results our students took with them into high school.

“Pupils love their school - they are prompt to arrive each day, eager to know what learning awaits them. Bawdsey is a harmonious community in which pupils of all ages work and play incredibly well together.” Ofsted, July 2014

Extra-curricular activities are strong, with before and after school clubs. Recently our teams have won the local football, swimming & basketball competitions, plus prizes in Young Art East Anglia. We consistently reach the national finals of Maths in Motion - and for the last two years we have also won the Eastern region robotics league, competing against hundreds of primary & secondary schools.

"The school's Christian ethos is evident within the school. It is shown in the caring and supportive relationships between pupils and staff. Pupils are valued as individuals and flourish in their personal development, appreciating the environment around them." SIAMS Church School Inspection.
